Got the exips shot blasted. And have since sold them on to
A guy up in Scotland. He had them painted and now fitted to his 4dr diesel looks very tidy aswell.
Still have the rally steels. With all mint condition pilot sport tyres fitted.
Set of 5. If anyone's interested in them msg me I could be tempted to sell.

Well it's been a while since I posted on this thread..July 2014 to be exact.
Just a small update on parts fitted and things done..over the last couple of month

New front wheel bearings as one had a slight noise..so changed the pair.
New track rod ends again one had play so put 2 new ones on.
Both new drive shafts as they'were cheep enought to replace..original ones kept.
Discs and pads replaced for drilled and grooved ones.. old ones were a bit past it.
Track control arms with updated bushes. again both sides..original ones kept to rebush.
Front struts Both sides original ones were tired so they are now having the big sleep.
Chucked on a couple of brake pipes and flexible hoses aswell.
New speeedo cable and clocks. Just for good measure.

So the front end is very much completely rebuilt.
My son found the cars first patch of weld needed above the spare wheel of all places
So that was done aswell..

Next the rear bearings and fit rear gti calipers..New shocks and bushes /a lick of paint on the axle
Some underseal / stoneguard..
Got a trip to Sheffield in the newyear to collect some bits n Bob's from a forum member.
