I have wanted a mint wheel for ages, I found a company on the web that specialize in leather called furniture clinic, I brought a kit of them and heres what happened . . .

That looks very good , as long as the leather or stitching is not split you can get a great result .
Post some pics of the finished wheel .Dare i ask how much the kit cost .

Yes, the leather needs to be reasonable and stitching in good condition, the kit was 35 quid and you could easily do 2 wheels

Great post mate! It's unfortunate that most steering wheels seem to be worn beyond repair.
